Welcome to Hinsdale Golf Club. We ask that you please take a moment to read the following information prior to your arrival at the Club.
Smoking:
The State of Illinois prohibits smoking in all public buildings and within fifteen feet of entrances. This Illinois law applies to Hinsdale Golf Club. Smoking or use of cannabis in any form on Club property is strictly prohibited.
Electronic Device Policy:
Hinsdale Golf Club intends to promote the enjoyment of golf and social activity in an environment free from the interruptions of cellular technology.
In keeping with the congenial personality of the Club, we understand the need for certain individuals to be accessible while at the Club. For this reason, portable electronic devices (defined as: cell phones, tablets and laptops) are allowed on Club grounds under the following stipulations:
Cell phones and other devices should be set on silent mode and should not ring on Club property; Texting, attending to email and internet surfing on appropriate websites is permitted throughout the Club, providing others are not affected; Tablets and laptops may be used in the lower level of the Club only, as long as volume is on mute, or headphones/earbuds are worn. All content must be of an appropriate nature.
Proper Clubhouse Attire:
The Hinsdale Golf Club
(HGC) proper club attire policy reflects the Club’s traditions, our shared
values and mutual respect for our fellow members and staff. In keeping with
HGC’s 120+ year heritage, as well as living in the present, the Club maintains
a set of balanced proper attire standards for the mutual comfort and enjoyment
of all members and guests. Our proper club attire policy applies to all adults,
children (defined as 18 and under, either with parents or dining alone) and
guests.
Clubhouse
Main level of the
Clubhouse (which includes: Dining
Room, Living Room & Centennial Room):
Business casual or
similar attire required for men, women and children. Men
are required to wear a sport coat or blazer when dining or attending
events/meetings on the main level, except when specifically designated
otherwise for special events.
- Hats are not permitted in the Clubhouse, except for ladies. Gentlemen wearing hats on these levels will be asked to remove them.
- Collared shirts are required for men. Non-collared shirts are not permitted at any time.
- Golf shoes are not to be worn in these areas.
- Denim is not permitted on the main level, except when specifically approved for a special event.
- Dress shorts are welcome.
- For men, shirts (dress or golf) must be tucked in at all times.

Lower level of the Clubhouse (which includes: Grill Room, Private Dining Room, Bar, 19th Hole, Heritage Hall, Patio):
Proper golf attire, casual attire or better for men, women and children. |
- Hats are not permitted in the Clubhouse, except for ladies. Gentlemen wearing hats on the Lower level will be asked to remove them, with the exception of the Locker Room and Patio.
- Collared shirts are required for men. Non-collared shirts are not permitted at any time, with the exception of approved golf mock turtlenecks.
- For men, shirts (dress and golf) must be tucked in at all times.
- Denim is not permitted on the lower level during the golf season, defined as April through October. Dress Denim (as defined above) is permissible on the lower level only during the “off-season”, defined as November through March.
- Women’s white jeans are permitted on the Lower level year-round, but must be tailored, consistent in color, and free from holes, tears, frays and shall not be distressed, cargo, baggy or acid washed.
- Tennis, paddle and swim/pool attire are not permitted on the Patio or in the Clubhouse with the exception of the Locker Rooms.

Golf Course
Proper golf attire is
required at all times while using the golf course and practice facilities. Golf
attire should be consistent with accepted standards of propriety and good
taste.
- Proper golf attire includes: a collared golf shirt or mock turtleneck, golf sweaters, golf pullovers, golf jackets and wind-shirts, slacks, golf shorts, and suitable golf footwear.
- Examples of improper attire for men, women and children on the golf course and practice facilities are: Jeans or denim material of any color, athletic tights, yoga pants, cutoff shorts, cargo shorts, athletic or tennis shorts/skirts, short shorts, strapless tops, tank tops, tee shirts, athletic/sweat shirts, hoodies, sweat suits, shirts with neither sleeves nor collars (mock turtlenecks and full coverage golf sun shirts are acceptable), high top shoes and sandals.
- All men’s golf shirts must be worn tucked in at all times.
- Fitted, tailored women’s golf shirts may be worn untucked; sleeveless women’s golf shirts, if collared, are also acceptable.
- Hats and visors are to be worn bill-forward at all times.
